About
Welcome to The Data Governor — a practitioner blog dedicated to the real-world challenges of data governance, data management, metadata, and data strategy.
About the Author
My name is Clinton Munkres. I'm a data governance professional with nearly 20 years of experience helping organizations design and implement enterprise data programs. I've worked across industries including financial services, healthcare, and retail — and I've seen the full spectrum of what works and what doesn't when it comes to governing data at scale.
I started this blog because I believe practitioners deserve more than theory. Most data governance literature is written at 30,000 feet. The Data Governor is written from the trenches — with a focus on practical frameworks, real-world examples, and the organizational dynamics that determine whether governance programs succeed or fail.
